Abstract:
Many people get nervous and trambling when they have to speak in public or even speak in a project meeting. 80% of a project manager’s job is to communicate. Knowing how to do it efficiently doesn’t seem like that, but it’s a big and real challenge. The best answer to this is to pursue effective training and this is in your hands. In a global and fast-changing world, more and more, we need to be assertive, clear, and concise in terms of the way how we transmit our aims and ideas in order to get fast results and achievements.

This presentation is focused on delivering to the audience a set of tools, tips, and experiences to improve the way how to communicate effectively and break the fear of public speaking with techniques that will help project managers, C-level, or anyone who needs to communicate on how to learn and do it better.
Speaker bio:
Ivan Moreira is a professional and specialized Sénior Project Manager, Business Strategist, Contract Management and Information Technology and Security consultant. He’s a Native Brazilian, born in Sao Paulo. After completing his college degree in electronics and working in that area for 5 years, he relocated to Portugal in 2001.
Ivan had been attended the Computer Science Management in ISCTE, Lisbon. In 2011 obtained his PMP credential from Project Management Institute and ITIL Foundation. He’s a founder member of PMI Portugal Toastmasters Club in Lisbon, since 2016 and completed the competent communicator and competent leadership track in 2019.
Currently, he works in the health industry acting as a Program Manager. He helps delivers key performance accomplishments in conducting and managing projects for top-tier corporate clients of company in energy, oil, healthcare, public administration, transportation, finance, and retail services.
His goal and interest are to play an integral part in advancing the project management best practices in information technology by continuing to create a clear and concise innovations and making them available and aid those that need it the most in enhancing the key performance index in businesses.
He has been involved in large scale projects for the last 15 years and is currently working in a telecom company where he helps deliver key deliverables in the execution and management of projects for high profile corporate clients in the energy, oil, healthcare, public administration, transport, finance, and retail sectors.
His goal and interest are to contribute significantly to the advancement of project management best practices in information technology by creating clear and concise innovations and making them available to those who need them most to improve the Key Performance Index in organizations.
Passionate about helping the community and people around him, he volunteers as area director for Toastmasters International, member of the committee of Public Relations at PMI Portugal Toastmasters, and also works closely with PMI Romania Chapter, PMI Angola, sharing project management knowledge, providing technical advice and support, blogging for PMI Budapest and at PMI Minas Gerais as mentor of post-graduation course in Project Management for PUC Minas Gerais university.
